Maxxis Assegai tyre

Greg Minnaar’s signature Maxxis tyre has been developed to be a true all-rounder with tall knobs to punch through the loam and dust and side knobs that offer ultimate support on wet roots and rocks giving you more confidence to get through the gnarly sections.

Available in a Mix of casings and rubber compounds:

Compounds

MaxxGrip 3C - The Softest compound available from Maxxis. Offering ultimate grip and high levels of damping this compound is aimed at the rider who favours out and out 'stick like sh*t' grip over rolling efficiency. Gravity focused rider look no further.

MaxxTerra 3C - MaxxTerra strikes the perfect balance between rolling speed, grip and durability. Ideal for most Enduro and trail riders alike. 

Maxxspeed - mainly used in XC race tyres. Maxxspeed is for the rider who prioritises out and out rolling speed over anything else. Best suited to tyres with less aggressive, faster rolling tread patterns.

Casings

Downhill - Constructed with an extra piece of Butyl rubber that extends along the side wall this casing offers the most support and protection against hard hits. Ideal for aggressive riders riding gnarly terrain. 

Double Down - With two layers of butyl inserts the DoubleDown casing provides support and protection for hard charging enduro riders. DH levels of protection, but with a lighter weight.

EXO+ - The perfect inbetween for most riders. Want more protection that standard EXO but don't want the weight penalty of DoubleDown? The EXO+ blend is the perfect solution.

EXO - Cut and abrasion resistant Maxxis EXO is lightweight and flexible yet still offers enough protection for most trail riders.
