Stemming from the race track and now making it's way onto the latest generation of bikes is the ability to change your chainstay length by +/-10mm. Utilizing an axle flip chip design means changing the chainstay length to alter your bikes handling characteristics is now easier than ever and settings can be adjusted within a few moments. Please note that changing the brake mount is required when switching between the modes - all new bikes and frames are shipped with two brake mounts.
You might ask 'why would I want to change this?' Changing your chain stay position is an effective way to alter the way your bike feels in certain situations. The 'short' position provides a more playful and responsive feel whereas the longer setting offers more stability when climbing and descenting at high speeds. The long setting is also useful for making the bike feel more balanced in larger sizes.
Note - The long setting is also required if you're wanting to run 29x2.6 tyres.
